I have to because they're all we've got. But it is the place from which I dialogue and explore. I think there is real threat to the Constitution. I believe, given the times we live in, that it is possible that the vote for a constitutional ammendment to ban same sex marriage (thereby implanting discrimination into the Constitution and destroying forever and for every American the fundamental vehicle for ensuring human and civil rights protection) could get to the people, outrageous and frightening as that be. Again, these are just my thoughts at the moment, about this one issue. It is not necessarily the place from which I cast my vote on election day. I have been known to be quite couragous and at other times quite self-serving on election day. One thing I refuse to be on any election day is ignorant. The broader picture is so much larger than this one issue and I'll do my best to be as balanced in my vote as I can be. The broader issue in this election, for me, is that the rule of the straight, white, male, has to end. That is the fundamental place from which I'll cast my vote.
