I have seen you a couple times, and frankly... everyone is pretty stingy on their warmth out on the trails. I was not only smitten by you a bit, but it was a nice addition to get a smile and a hello.
When I finished my run ... as I usually do, go to the beach to actually take in the scenery. There you were again, I was pretty sure. I didn't want to bug you. But had to walk by. My being "smitten" was a bit validated. You left the shore about the same time as me... and lo and behold... you tossed the driftwood.
Believe me you. I was inspired. Having known you wrote it, and given my interest... I was curious. Why and to whom you wrote... but moreover... why you cast it off on the path. And was I the cause to not complete side 2... per my post, I didn't want to over-think it, but at the same time, my curiosity was off-the-hook. Was that to a prior love, a parent, a current love, a note to society, a note to .... wasn't sure.
I have posted on Craigslist once before in the Missed Connections. An uncomfortable moment in a Safeway a couple years ago, with someone I exchanged anxious glances and smiles. I realized that we both were looking at cereal for far too long. It was worth a shot.
I wanted to post my open response as I used to do, in what I the "ether" of some of their random categories. I have as so very samiliar to your response, given random thought... sometimes creative, sometimes freeform....

So I missed your response... and frankly, that is similar to how I would of posted the initial note.
I was beyond shocked as you were to get a response, as you were a post. But given how it's Craigslist, I wasn't sure it was the same person. I figured a creative funny response (I'm not an ass) was in order. Yesterday was so crazy...I was giddy given your mindset, and wanted to not lose your attention.
I was so giddy to get a note back out, yet whatever comes to the creative mind can be a home run or a swing and a miss. The Blair Witch/tree thing I understood... but didn't come over earlier. That was you... wow. I was down there yesterday and it was gone. My positive belief is that it was swept away by the ocean, and [insert symbolism here]. I 'wrote back' to you... and attached. Perhaps this is a bit contrived, but I will say I gave it go ...
