Bloomberg forced restaurants to post calorie counts which seems fine but he also is always talking about going after street food cart vendors who are mostly immigrants trying to scratch up a living. On his radio program he even criticized eating salt which is ridiculous because if you are a weight and not genetiy disposed to high blood pressure you can eat salt. Now I don't think is like "health nazis" like Mayor Bloomberg. I think what she is doing is more like. She's not telling people to be thin. If you look at the USDA website her programs are aimed at who might have both parents working and poor or rural people who don't have food choices. For political reasons there is no way in hell she can come out and say that. A lot of middle class people have transitioned to poverty. She can't say that. So whether people are misinterpreting her because she can't be more clear for political reasons or just confusing her with diet gurus and health "nazis" I don't know but I can understand the confusion. What this politician said is TOTALLY different than what Limbaugh said but I've read two news articles equating them. The politician plans to apologize but Limbaugh would never do that. one conversation was private ( and I strongly believe in a private, personal sphere) while the other was a radio broadcast. Finally the sentiment was totally different and he's hardly the only person who feels picked on by diet and health advice.
